Bellcow does not set cookies.

Not analytics cookies. Not advertising cookies. Not "essential" cookies, either — our code never writes one. There is nothing in the app that reads or writes document.cookie, and there is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.

What Bellcow does use is your browser's localStorage: a private key-value store that belongs to your browser, is never attached to a network request, and is never sent to us or to anyone else. This page lists every key we put in it and why.

What Bellcow stores in your browser

Every key is prefixed gm. so you can identify them at a glance in your browser's developer tools.

KeyWhat it holdsWhy
gm.acctYour session token and the email address you signed in with.So you stay signed in for 30 days instead of typing a code on every visit. The token is sent to our own server as an Authorization header when the app calls our API — never to any third party.
gm.yahooYour Yahoo OAuth access and refresh tokens, if you connected Yahoo. So Bellcow can read your Yahoo leagues. These tokens are only ever in your browser — our Yahoo proxy is stateless and never stores them. Pressing Disconnect deletes this key.
gm.intelmodeWhich intelligence bundle the app is reading.Remembers a display setting between visits.
gm.entA cached copy of your entitlement (free or season pass, and when it expires). So the app can render the right features instantly instead of blocking on a Stripe lookup. The authoritative copy is always on the server.
Other gm. keysCached league state, your last-viewed league, and interface preferences. So the app opens fast and remembers where you were. All of it is regenerated from your account if you clear it.

None of this is a cookie. localStorage is not transmitted automatically with requests, is not readable by any other site, and cannot be used to track you across the web.

What Bellcow does not use

Cookies on pages that are not ours

Two places in the journey are hosted by someone else, and they run their own rules:

When you come back to Bellcow, you are back on a site that sets nothing.

What our host records

Netlify, which hosts the site and runs our serverless functions, keeps standard request logs — IP address, timestamp, path, status code, user agent. That is server-side logging, not a cookie, and we do not use it to profile you. It is covered in the Privacy Policy.

How to clear what we store

Clearing local storage signs you out and drops the local cache. It does not delete your account or your leagues — those are on the server and come back when you sign in. To delete those too, see Cancellation.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Do Not Track header or a Global Privacy Control signal, there is nothing for it to turn off. We do not track, do not sell and do not share — that is already our only mode of operation, for everyone, whether or not you ask for it.

If this changes

If Bellcow ever introduces a cookie or an analytics tool, this page will list it, the Privacy Policy will name the processor, the "Last updated" date will move, and where the law requires consent you will be asked for it before anything is set. We are not going to quietly add a tracker and hope this page goes unread.
